This site keeps data collection to the minimum needed to run a newsletter and understand what readers find useful. It does not sell personal data and does not run advertising trackers.
Analytics
With your consent, the site uses Google Analytics 4 to count page views and a few events — which pages are read, which links are clicked and when someone subscribes. This is used in aggregate to improve the site. If you decline, Google Analytics is never loaded and sets no cookies.
Newsletter
The newsletter runs on Beehiiv. When you subscribe, the email address you enter is handled by Beehiiv to deliver Making Data Work. The subscribe form is provided by Beehiiv; its separate attribution tracker only loads if you accept analytics cookies. You can unsubscribe from any issue.
Cookies and your choice
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or reject analytics cookies. The choice is stored in your browser and remembered on future visits. Reject and only the essentials run. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time:
